Quality wood furniture is an significant investment we expect to last for generations. Whether it's a hardwood coffee table, an upholstered couch or your favorite leather chair, it's a priority to keep your furniture looking new. To maintain it and make sure your furniture lasts, it needs the right care.

At Barizi Interiors, we would like to help you make your furniture last as long as is possible. Our products are finished with two to three coats of varnish for extra depth and long-lasting durability making it easy for you to look after it on a day-to-day basis.

The gloss of the finish ranges from high to low, depending on the piece or collection. The finish protects the wood and adds to its beauty. No finish is totally indestructible. But with regular care, the finish will last much longer, providing years of enjoyment to you. We've put a few furniture care tips to help you out.

To protect and care for your furniture, we recommend the following:

1.  In order to maintain the colour avoid placing your furniture in direct sunlight, as sunlight causes fading. However, if your furniture is exposed to sunlight you can protect it by curtains – sunblock curtains are the most effective – and keep them closed during periods of intense sunlight

   2. Periodically rotate accessories on furniture so they do not sit in the same spot all the time. One of the easiest ways to ensure your leather furniture doesn't fade is to rearrange furniture at least once a year.
  3. All cleaning and polishing agents should always firstly be tested on a part of the furniture which is not in direct view.

  4. Avoid extreme changes in temperature by arranging furniture away from heaters, fire places and air conditioning units

  5. Always use hot pads/mats, coasters, mats and cloth to protect the furniture surface from plastic, rubber, hot dishes,                          beverages, flowerpots and vases.

6. If you spill any liquid, you should always wipe it off immediately. Use a blotting rather than a wiping action. Water left over a long period of time will cause white spots in the finish. Alcohol, perfume, after-shave and medications can cause severe finish damage.

7. Always use a protective pad when using sharp utensils or writing on furniture surface.

8. Lift and place objects rather than dragging them across the furniture surface.

9. Maintain the furniture on a regular basis.

10. But if anything happens and damage occurs, contact your dealer.

Cleaning and polishing your furniture

We recommend dusting frequently with a clean, soft, dry, lint-free cloth.

Clean the surface by rubbing in the direction of the grain.

Some of our products feature a high-gloss finish. These items require extra care to prevent dust and smudges from being overly apparent. Be especially careful to avoid scratching high gloss finishes by using a feather duster or very soft, clean cloths and wiping with minimal pressure.
